This bourbon is just alright, alright, alright...ok, I got that out of the way. I didn't know this was A-list actor Matthew Mcconaughey's whiskey, all I knew was when I bought it, it was next to all the Wild Turkey bourbons and I'm a fan of Wild Turkey. Only when I got home and looked for info on it online did I discover it was a "celebrity" brand whiskey. Regardless of all that, I really like this bourbon. The nose was kinda plain, really nothing to say. The taste reminds me of butterscotch candy on the finish and a slight cherry flavor on the beginning. At 43% alcohol it's at a nice sweet spot that makes it interesting enough for a daily dram, I'm glad that they didn't go for a cash grab and settle for the minimum of 40%, seems to me that Matthew Mcconaughey is a real whiskey guy, who has good taste, cares about his name on this bottle and not just a celebrity pushing a product they don't know or have a clue about, kudos to him.
