Is this a rye? I swear it comes off tasting like a rye whiskey. The nose, the taste, if you like rye than you might like this one. The nose is very ethanol heavy along with a smell of decade old burnt taffy. The taste is very unusual as well, its like tasting a sugar saturated mint mouth wash, I'm serious that's what I'm getting. I placed a little water and the flavors come out better, you taste more of that woody note which I like. Still this one is a head scratcher for me, not likely repeating another bottle purchase. I only picked up this bottle on a recommendation from a fellow customer when I was at my local liquor store trying to find something new to taste. Lets just say, we don't have similar tastes in bourbon.
