Neck pour neat in a Glendale. Opened up for about 10m before sipping. Overall this was a very nice pour. It's a nice, multi-layered easy sipper with a very unique combination of notes coming through. The nose matched the palate well, and surprisingly with notes I normally only get with single malt scotches. My only gripe is that it does feel a bit thing both in the nose and palate, and the finish is on the shorter side. Although that could be attributed to the proof. Good deal for regardless Nose: Orange zest and sweet oak up front. An almost highland single malt like light honey on the back end. You also get sourness that you get from many high rye whiskies such as Willett. Palate: Front palate has very bourbon like feel with burty sugar and molasses coming through. Waxy mid-palate with nice honey notes; again this is reminiscent of highland malts to me (think thinner Clynelish). Some rye spice kicks in towards the end. Finish: Medium/shorter length with some rye spice, some oak. I also get some candied honey. Overall this was a very nice pour.
