Aroma comes through a bit older than a 2 yo, doesn’t have that woody depth of maturity – it’s quite light across the board, but it doesn’t carry that immature-craft-raw-woody-wet-cardboard-saw-dust note; this is enjoyable, but not very complex. Palate pulls in some light oak but remains light and delicate which is strange to say about a bourbon – again missing that well-developed depth of something like an Evan Williams Bonded, but excellent balance and spice. Finish is nice, simple and enjoyable.

@WhiskeyLonghorn Cheers, I'm thinking the same. Once we get to that average 4+ yo mark I won't be surprised at all if this is a serious contender, profile wise, with some of the big guys
I had a bottle of this and was not impressed. They are just rushing it to market.
Good assessment. These guys have promise and they have a kick ass tasting room in South Austin, and I appreciate them going all in on their own distillate rather than sourcing. Unfortunately, it takes time to age good whiskey, even here in Texas, and I’m tasting that in some of their releases. When this stuff reaches 4-6 years old I’m betting it will be magnificent.
