First, this whiskey is not for the faint of heart. But if you’re prone to exploring all corners of the single malt universe don’t miss an opportunity to taste this dram.
As you would expect at 170 ppm you need to cut the peat with a knife. It is thick and filling with chewy seaweed and brine. What then surprises most is the barrel sweetness that caresses the throat and smooths the edges of this amazingly full whiskey. At 58.7% abv, by all means add a few drops of water to open it up a bit and let the peat monster soothe you to your soul.
