Nose - molasses, overripe banana, toffee, almond, coffee liqueur, leather, tobacco, rotting fruit funk, rubber cement, allspice, clove, grape, sweet cream, mild ethanol burn.
Taste - creamy vanilla, apple juice, molasses, cinnamon, allspice, nutmeg, clove, cardamom, orange, lemon, grape, sweet tobacco, leather, overripe banana, less funk than on the nose, sweet cream, moderate alcohol bite, finishing relatively quickly with fading overripe, sour fruit, baking spice, cardamom, and vanilla flavors.
Overall, this is really solid. There’s a bit of sourness on the finish that I don’t particularly like, but the flavors blend together very well without being overly sweet like some other dark rums.

@ctbeck11 It took me a while to like gin as well and I still find it to be very situational. I sadly have yet to try genever, but it's on the list along with aquavit, ouzo, and a few others that I know I'll regret.
@ContemplativeFox Thanks! First I’ve heard of genever. I’ll have to check it out. Although, gin seems to be the one spirit category I can’t seem force myself to like. I’ve got a couple airplane bottles waiting for me to review once I build up the courage.
Also, @ctbeck11 This is a great review - I love the mouth-watering detail. I'll probably grab a bottle of it in a few months when I've cleared a few bottles off my shelves and everyone on Distiller has moved on to genever or whatever.
@WhiskeyLonghorn Haha and here I am feeling so un-hip for stocking up on literally everything but rum! I guess I've just never been the cool kid lol
@WhiskeyLonghorn I’m pretty new to rum, but I’ve enjoyed the few I have tried so far.
Seems like everybody’s drinking rum lately!
