Old Forester Single Barrel Bourbon Barrel Strength

It’s single barrel so they are obviously all different but this selection is outstanding! High in vanilla and cherry notes with the oak and tannins muted. The longer it sits, the more oak I get but this is remarkably good! Nose is amazing right off the bat, delicious palate, and a nice long lingering finish...what else can you ask for. I may be alone here but this particular bottle contends with Elijah Craig Barrel Proof

I havent seen barrel proof here yet but yes have seen single barrel. If this is better than 1920(which I love) I need to find it
@WhiskeyLonghorn I’m so jealy
@Zachary-Robbins Holy cow! Last I checked Jack BiB CS was $60 tops and Booker's was no more than $80 :O
@Anthology either one. Lots of OF options down here deep in the heart.
@DigitalArc That is insane lol
@DigitalArc "Revenge of the South". I like it.
@WhiskeyLonghorn By BP do you mean Barrel Pick or Barrel Proof? I’ve seen the SiB Barrel Picks in SoCal for sub $50 as well. Haven’t seen a bunch of barrel proofs in the wild here. @DigitalArc I think I know where you saw it for $300. MW&S? 🙂
@WhiskeyLonghorn. How the......💥🔥🤬🔥💥
@DigitalArc $300 for OldFo BP?! It’s $50 everywhere here.
@connollyaw5 @Zachary-Robbins Found a bottle! But selling for $300 in SoCal... Prices on bourb are skyrocketing! 'Revenge of the South' I call it.
Nice review. If i see it Im buying
@connollyaw5 I'll definitely buy if I get a chance, I have 2 open ECBPs right now and love all things Old Forrester.
@Zachary-Robbins I paid $80 but I went back and got a back up bottle because it is so good. I hate to say it because I really love ECBP but this does warrant the extra $20
What price did you get it at? It's listed in my state at $80 but I haven't seen it in stores yet. The ECBP and OF 1920 are both $60. Whenever it's available in North Carolina it might be better to compare with Jack Daniel's SiB CS and Booker's since those are $70 and $90, respectively.
@jonwilkinson7309 I just did a side by side to compare the two. My opinion only so take that for what it is but this blows the 1920 away in all aspects. Despite this having a higher ABV, it is less alcohol forward and much more flavorful. The nose seems a little more refined and the flavors just seem to pop a little bit more with this one. They are both great but it’s no contest.
Sounds amazing. Have you tried the 1920? if so, how does it compare to this?
