Like all Old Forester Bourbon, this Single Barrel version is made from a mash bill of 72% corn, 18% rye, and 10% malted barley. Each bottle of Old Forester Single Barrel comes from one individual barrel. These hand-selected barrels are managed by Master Taster Jackie Zykan.
For the Barrel Strength version, the bourbon is unfiltered and will vary in proof as is the nature of these releases. Each barrel should yield ~160 per barrel. .

Tasting Notes
"A powerful and brusk barrel proof bourbon. Leather and black tea jump out of the glass with sweet corn aromas closing out the nose. The palate is all black pepper and rye with a nutty bitterness in the finish. With water, it is shy to expose much more depth beyond the barrel-imposed flavors."
