The nose is rich with sugar and a hint of chocolate and spice, while tasting reveals Demerara sugar and, as you sip, opens more of the subtle chocolate and spice, plus some pleasant oak notes. The finish is medium with a noticeable yet pleasant tannic astringency that links to the woody notes and dries out the palate. Overall, from the nose to the finish, it feels like a rum that evolves and reveals more of itself as you taste it and enjoy it. At a very reasonable price, it's a great rum for beginners that want to get to know more of the spirit, and something that you easily may see yourself indulging in over and over again.
