As my very first taste of Irish whiskey, much better than I would have thought of such a cheap and ubiquitous bottle: mildly sweet with notes of cookies and applesauce, a bit of oakiness on the finish, which is not going to last for long time. I can see why a lot of whisk(e)y snobs might throw shade at the basic Jameson bottling, but I can in full honesty see myself enjoying it pretty often without regrets when more complex whisk(e)ys aren't available or simply when I'm in the mood for an easy and decent drinker.
