I had a glass of this during a business trip recently and ended up taking a picture of the bottle so that I would never try this again. This is the first Mezcal I have ever tasted and I wish someone would have told that this stuff was as smokey as it was. It was only after I had taken the first sip that I realized that none of the flavors were to my liking. To be fair I was not sure what to expect and I really was surprised and nearly overwhelmed by the difference. If I were being sarcastic I would say that this was aged and fermented in a burning Goodyear tire it was that bad to me. The body was more smoke and earthy notes along with a taste I associate with green peppers or unripe vegetables. However, when I have tried a whiskey or gin that I did not like I usually try to give it time but considering the cost of this I believe that I will pass on this Mezcal. One final note I am a strong believer in "drink what you like and can afford" and if you like this more power to you but I did not like anything about it from the price to the taste. If any Mezcal fans out there in this great big drinking world of ours has any suggestions I am open to them just please remember about the smokiness issue I had with this drink.
