Nose:
Bold rounded and somewhat sweet peat smoke, vanilla, brown sugar, hints of orangey citrus, faint white pepper, licorice and aniseed.
Palate:
Oily and full mouthfeel, background of faint mint leaves, caramel, sea salt and herbal notes.
Finish:
Medium long length, lingering pleasant smooth and rounded peat smoke, bittersweet.
In summary, an amazingly complex and intriguing dram, which is very well rounded but packs a peat smoke punch that reminds you that this is no novice dram. My favourite so far in my limited years of experience, but it’s going to be hard to beat.
