Taste begins with a sweet and fruity hit, reminding me of raisins or over ripe dark cherries. As the sweetness mellows, the spicy comes to the front, bringing with it the smoke and peat, reminding me of a mild chipotle pepper. The smoke and peat remain as the spiciness dissipates. Be patient however, as the sweetness returns for a final farewell.
I added a few drops of water which kept the same overall flavors, but brought out more of the ripe fruit, while mellowing the spiciness.
Overall a complex profile, with different flavors coming and going throughout each sip.
