Light in color and body.
Nose 1: very light and fruity nose. Definitely getting pear andgreen apple. A little dill and lemon zest. Quite nice actually. Also get a nice fresh rye bread.
Taste 1: definitely get the dill on the front of the palate. Short to Medium finish. Warms up the chest quickly.
Nose 2: a lot of the same in nose 1. A little bit of the juicy fruit gum scent.
Taste 2: taste is young with fruit and dill. Finish is medium length. This is probably best suited in a cocktail that needs a little extra rye punch. A little ethanol burn on the back end but the rye flavors kicks it back down a little and mellows it out.
Very distinct flavor not a lot of char or oak notes which I kind of miss from this whiskey.
I only paid 20 dollars for this bottle so I'm not too terribly disappointed. I'd also like to note that I'm used to ryes with a lower rye mash bill which is why it might just be my palate telling me it's not what I'm used to.
I will definitely keep at this one and try it in a cocktail or two.
