Right away you notice the color is a very dark, brownish amber. It is very cautious about leaving legs behind as you swirl it. The nose has a very pleasant amount of charred oak, mixed with caramel, dark chocolate, with hints of cherry and vanilla balancing it very nicely.
The palate is somewhat dry while being chewy and slowly makes its way to all corners of the mouth. Oak fills the mouth, as sweet notes of vanilla and caramel hit the mid palate. On a second sip, cherry joins the oak in coating the mouth all the whole cinnamon works it’s way to the corners. It is overall very smooth and easy to drink and it’s age and proof.
The finish is medium with a slight lingering spiciness along with strong oak as the sweeter notes fade a little too soon.
