I’m in my grandfathers wood shop. Sawdust and fresh oak shavings coat the floor. The air is musty and dry. A small cast iron fireplace is burning, heating the barn. Even though it’s cold outside, it’s nice and warm inside. The lathe hums away as my grandfather works in the corner.
