The color is a glowing amber with legs that range their time to slowly move down the sides of the glass with every movement. The nose is very fruit forward with a mixture of vanilla custard, oak, a touch of pepper, with nuances coming out with every smell.
The palate is somewhat rich but very smooth, hitting every corner of the mouth. The fruit and the oak translate beautifully, along with a nice helping of grain, straw, honey and pepper. Everything is about as perfectly balanced as it can be. You get absolutely no sensation of alcohol, just pure flavor that keeps drawing you in.
The finish is long that keeps the mouth feeling pleasantly peppery with a lingering fruitiness that you keep wanting to chew on. In the corners is a maltiness that reminds you this is an amazing whisky.
