New Spirit Releases - October 18, 2024

The Juggernaut is the eleventh edition in The Boss Hog series. Here, WhistlePig was inspired by the Indian aromatic drink Thandai which is made with nuts and spices. Rye aged in new American oak barrels was further matured in barrels seasoned with a marriage of aged rye, saffron, cinnamon, cardamom, nutmeg, fennel, poppy and black peppercorn. These are single barrel releases with the proof varying between 103.8 - 105.2 proof. Available beginning October 15, 2024 in select markets and via the brand's website. (SRP $599.99)

The 20th release in the Master's Collection features a unique blend of Woodford Reserve Bourbon, Rye, and Wheat Whiskeys — each finished in Madeira wine casks. This blend is then further enhanced with the addition of Woodford Reserve Wheat Whiskey. Bottled at 45.2% ABV, it's available beginning October 15, 2024 at select retailers nationally. (SRP $179.99)

The 2024 Harvest Release from Woodinville features their fully-matured straight bourbon finished in freshly-dumped Sauternes wine casks. This is a grain-to-glass release using grains cultivated on the Omlin Family Farm in Quincy, Washington. Bottled at 105 proof, the first 500 hand-numbered bottles will be released at the Harvest Release party at the distillery on October 19, 2024 followed by online availability shortly after. Founder's Find is a new series from the brand featuring rare & unusual whiskeys. Here, a 12 year-old whiskey from Tennessee had a small amount (4%) of 15 year-old Indiana bourbon added to it six years into its maturation. Additionally, the barrels used in its maturation were reconditioned — used whiskey barrels that were scraped clean, then freshly toasted & charred. This is the brand's first sourced whiskey release. Bottled at 107 proof, the first 500 bottles are available at the distillery's Harvest Release party on October 19, 2024 followed shortly after with online availability. (SRP $129.99)

The ninth release in Westland's Garryana series continues to put a spotlight on Quercus garryana, a type of oak indigenous to the area. In addition to the virgin Garryana oak and first-fill ex-bourbon barrels, oloroso sherry butts were used in its maturation — a first for Westland for this series. It was aged a minimum of 60 months. Only 6,600 bottles were produced. Nationwide availability begins November 15, 2024. (SRP $149.99)

This limited edition release varies from the brand's 4+ year-old expression which also uses Brazilian wood in the finishing as this is both longer aged and has a different mash bill used in the recipe. Here, 78% corn, 13% rye and 9% malted barley is used and after 10 years of aging it's then finished with Brazilian Amburana wood staves. It's also bottled at cask strength. Available at select retailers beginning October 2024. (SRP $299)

Master Distillers Batch is the third bourbon batch release from Booker's for 2024. The batch is named after the a group of distillers from the late 80s and early 90s who were influential to Fred Noe, Beam Family 7th generation Master Distiller. This group of legends includes his own father Booker Noe and his peers at other distilleries. This batch was made on two different production dates and stored in four different warehouses. Aged for 7 years, 8 months, and 7 days, this was bottled uncut and unfiltered at 130.3 proof (65.15% ABV). Available nationwide beginning October 2024. (SRP $99.99)

Made in collaboration with luxury skiwear & lifestyle brand Perfect Moment, this limited edition rare new blend was crafted by Master Blender Emma Walker featuring whiskies from the highest elevations in Scotland. The blue bottle and bespoke reversible crossbody bottle bag were designed by Perfect Moment. Available at select global locations beginning October 14, 2024. (SRP $420)
