New Spirits Releases - June 10, 2022

The Rare Marriages Range was crafted by The Balvenie's Malt Master David C. Stewart. This 25 Year bottling is one of three in the collection of rare single malt whiskies. Stewart begins by selecting the casks of single malts which aged in traditional American oak and European oak casks, and in this case they aged separately for 25 years. Then he married the two casks together in traditional oak tuns to mingle. This 25 Year Rare Marriages bottling is bottled without chill-filtration at 48% ABV. Released in the US in June 2022.

Stewart begins by selecting the casks of single malts which aged in traditional American oak and European oak casks, and in this case they aged separately for 30 years. Then he married the two casks together in traditional oak tuns to mingle. This 30 Year Rare Marriages bottling is bottled with natural color and with chill-filtration at 44.2% ABV. Released in the US in June 2022.

Stewart begins by selecting the casks of single malts which aged in traditional American oak and European oak casks, and in this case they aged separately for 40 years. Then he married the two casks together in traditional oak tuns to mingle. This 40 Year Rare Marriages bottling is bottled with natural color at cask strength. Released in the US in June 2022.

This release in the Cascade Moon series features a 15 year-old spirit which was made from a mash bill of corn, rye, and malted barley. It's bottled at barrel proof. However, as the bottling falls below 80 proof (40% ABV), it cannot be classified as as a whiskey, but as a "spirit distilled from grain." Bottled at 79.8 proof, it's available for a limited time as of June 2022 in Tennessee, Texas, and California. (SRP $124.99)

Crafted by GlenDronach's Master Blender Rachel Barrie, the 10th cask strength batch is a marriage of single malts which aged in oloroso and Pedro Ximenez casks. It's bottled without chill-filtration at 58.6% ABV and is available in the US as of June 2022.

Ronnie's Batch is the first Booker's batch for 2022. It's named in honor of longtime employee Ronnie Land who worked with Booker Noe and rose to the ranks of warehouse manager in his 40 years with the company. Ronnie set the standard tasting sample still used today by Master Distillers Fred and Freddie Noe. Ronnie's Batch is aged for 6 years, 11 months, and 22 days and is uncut and unfiltered at 124.3 proof.

This sherry cask finished whisky (McConnell's spells it without the "e") is the second release for the brand since it was reintroduced in 2020. Aged for 5 years, the blend is initially aged in first-fill ex-bourbon barrels and then is finished in oloroso sherry casks. It's bottled without chill-filtration at 46% ABV and was launched in the US in June 2022.

Woodford Reserve Toasted Oak Oat Grain is a limited edition release in the brand's Distillery Series. The bourbon begins life as fully matured Woodford Reserve Oat Grain Bourbon, which as the name suggests uses oats in the mash bill. That matured bourbon is then finished in new, heavily toasted oak barrels. Bottled at the brand's standard 90.4 proof, this is sold in 375ml sized bottles at the Woodford Reserve Distillery gift shop in Versailles, Kentucky and select Kentucky retailers for a limited time beginning June 2022.
