Suntory The Chita Single Grain
Single Grain — Japan
Reviewed October 29, 2017 (edited April 24, 2018)very interesting, very unexpected. feels cold on the tonque, even at room temperature, but honey is the only flavor to initally stand out, corn sugars burst after the swallow but quickly the honey reemerges and fades to very honey tasting wood. i wish i had more than one pour left. i will bring a bottle or two back from japan for sure -
fermented honey and slight maltiness on the nose, closely resembling mead or flat warm beer. inital taste is nutty and sherried with the swallow bringing in bourbon oak vanillaness and an unmistakable ginger bite is left on the tongue. the 58.4% is not felt in the palate but defineatly felt in the stomach
