I was able to have this when a bar in town was running a Johnnie Walker special and was vaguely pleased with it. Psychological bias says I should love it *because* I spent 25$ on the pour. But, generous thought was, I was not impressed. Yes, it was delicate and volatile in a playful way that only comes with aged whisky. But the character was lost to the ages, probably. If given the choice between this fancy one and a "lesser" Walker, I'd pick the Green label over this if I'm paying. If you're paying, well.. pour what you will.

Jameson 12 Year Special Reserve
Blended — Ireland
Reviewed January 17, 2015 (edited September 11, 2015)Really, Jameson makes some solid stuff. I find myself defaulting to them more often than others because, for the price, there's little to dislike in a neat dram. -
I tried this, finally, after a very nice dinner for my girlfriend's birthday. It did not disapppoint and married well the remainder of the bison ribeye on my palate. Smoky like a good cigar bar. A little chewy which helps roll the smoke in your mouth. Sweet pear and a touch of carmel. A drink worthy of Ron Swanson.
