Overall, nothing special, but it delivers a nice flavor with little burn. I'd recommend it, as long as you don't pay too much for it. Aroma: Light and sweet. Hints of banana and apple or pear. Notes of caramel as well. Feel: Almost water-like texture. Smooth and easy. Taste: Very minimal alcohol taste. Strong flavors of charred wood with a bit of sweetness. A bit spicy, and a bit fruity. Strangely, it does seem to taste a bit tropical, but that may simply be the power of suggestion. Finish: Moderate length to the finish. Fades from mostly barrel flavor out to a fruity flavor.

Overall, a middle of the road Whiskey. Not bad, but a little disappointing they didn't just leave it in barrel considering how much better the 15 is. Aroma: Very fruity, sweet. Also smells a bit like marshmallow. Hints of (oak?) Feel: Quite smooth, but a bit burny. Taste: Spicy. Mostly spicy. Can't identify any specific spices though. Also a fairly moderate barrel flavor. Finish: Still a bit burny, but flavors taper off nicely to almost chamomile. Finish is short, which honestly is kind of nice in this case.

Overall, a pleasant and mildly interesting scotch. I think it's worth a taste. Aroma: Smells of banana, pretty strongly actually. Mildly sweet also. Feel: Extremely smooth mouth-feel, silken almost. Taste: Starts strong, but tapers to a nice, slightly sweet wood flavor with hints of fruit. No banana taste at all. Finish: Short-ish finish, but the flavors that do linger are pleasant.

Glenlivet 14 Year Cognac Cask Selection
Single Malt — Speyside, Scotland
Reviewed January 13, 2021 (edited January 28, 2021)Smells sweet, and strongly of wood and fruit. Also a slight floral scent. Very complex taste, at least to my inexperienced palate. Strong spiciness, but not a burn. Tastes of forest, like a combination of fresh growth, flowering plants and a strong earthen-bark type flavor. It has a long finish, and really reminds me of standing out in the woods after a rain-storm. I like that. -
TLDR: 100% pretty okay. Nothing special, but it tastes decent and doesn't burn. Aroma: Very sweet. Smells strongly of agave with some slight floral notes. Perhaps also a very slight scent of cinnamon? Lightly earthen also. Feel: Very light in the mouth, and incredibly smooth. Feels almost like an oil, but in a good way. Taste: Opens almost flavorless. Follows with a light alcohol flavor and an almost sake-like middle. Tapers off to a flavor of mostly alcohol, but also the agave flavors become apparent at the end.

Los Rijos Tequila Reposado
Tequila Reposado — Jalisco, Mexico
Reviewed December 31, 2020 (edited August 11, 2022)TLDR; Good potential, but overall an average experience due to harsh alcohol burn. Aroma: By far the best part of the spirit. Very sweet, marshmallow-like. Light scents of wood and floral notes. Taste: Opens with a sweet, lightly floral flavor. Flows into a nice wood and floral flavor in the middle, with some taste of alcohol. Finishes with a harsh alcohol burn, most flavors are lost and the burn continues into the after-taste. It seems to me like the distiller is putting care and effort into selecting ingredients and barrels. Many of the flavors are excellent while available. However, I suspect a large portion of the heads and tails are being included, which gives the spirit a much harsher burn than it deserves.
