Seaweed, salt, toasted raisin bread on the nose. On the pallet, more seaweed like those sheets you get in Ramen, Marzipan, light to medium smoke. Has an oily nutty note like salted walnuts. The body is medium in oily viscosity and does a fine job coating my mouth. Bready salty smoky sweetness lingers for a decent amount of time and ends with a salty sea weed dryness on the tongue. At 43% ABV, I find this very drinkable and balanced between prominent, but not overbearing, smoke/peat and sweeter caramely bready fatty nutty notes.

Copper red tinged. Looks viscous, really clinging to glass. Smells of toasted coconut, burnt brown sugar, caramel, cinnamon, light clove, oak/wood. Smells incredible. Toasted coconut persists on palate strongly along with burnt sugar. Slight licorice in finish. It's drying and oaky. Very drinkable without water, rich chewy mouthfeel. Cinnamon, pencil shavings, the brûlée form creme brûlée, a little butterscotch. Water softens the above flavors and brings out a marzipan mid-palate and finish. That finish sticks around. Damn good. One of my favorite bourbons and I didn't have to pneumonia or administer a disinformation campaign.

Octomore 07.3/169 Islay Barley
Single Malt — Islay, Scotland
Reviewed October 8, 2016 (edited December 11, 2017)Easy drinking for what it is. Buttery, fatty, sweet glazed ham nose. Rich, thick body. Balanced sweetness. Sweet, meaty, coating. What is this??? I don't understand, but want to drink it indefinitely. Ash finish, water diminished this note, but I like the ash note.
