This is an amazing bourbon. Creamy mouthfeel that explodes with oak and vanilla. Coats the mouth and has a long drawn out oaky finish. Drank with confiscated and was an amped up version of that. More flavor in every way

Feels like distillers reviews of Barrell products lately have all been very low. While I don’t love all Barrell products this was one of the truly great new whiskeys in 2018. It really stood out from the crowd to me. Had first at whiskey in the winter a whiskey festival in St. Louis and it was the one thing that really stood out in my memory that night. Upon getting a bottle later on my memory was spot on. It’s great stuff. Pull the trigger if you get a chance

This was an incredible whiskey. I am not a fan of the jd single barrel but this thing was knocked out of the park. Loads of flavor, very sweet but think candies fruits and caramel. Long finish. If I could grab another bottle close to retail I’m in

Peanuts everywhere not great at all

Tried this in a flight with the other van winkles and this one was a slight disappointment. While it was still good it didn’t really compare to the 20 at all. Those extra three years seemed to take away some of the sweetness and fruit flavors I liked in the twenty so much. I don’t buy this is over Oaked and didn’t think it had any of the sour oak taste. Overall still a great drink and was awesome to taste the true legend of bourbon

I must say it seemed like forever before the opportunity to try this presented itself. I have had plenty of excellent bourbons before and while I was expecting this to disappoint it did not. I’m fairly sure I’d never pay the insane secondary price for it but it did jump into my top three or four bourbons I have ever had. I am a fan of the oak forward palate which presents almost an oak and cherry pie flavor. Finish was super long and kept me going back in for more. Truly excited and glad I got to try it.
