For the price this is hard to beat. Was fortunate enough to try it alongside Seagrass Gray Label, Whistlepig 10 and a Midwinter Night’s Dram. 5 stars to this and Gray Label…and if you can get a 5 star rye for $89 instead of $250, why wouldnt you? This one has a rich rye vibrancy and depth that’s missing in Gray Label. Gray Label atones with extra age, but this one is a superior product.

Had my eye on this a while and finally pulled the trigger. Rich vanilla custard creme brulee and gingerbread on the nose. Lots to explore with apricot, melon, grape, dill, mint, cherry on the tongue. Long, spicy finish. Don’t know if i’ll buy again given the price, but this is a standard.

Nose is grapey, caramel, walnut, honey, mild citrus. Intriguing. Palate is vanilla, oak, cocoa, leather, honey, hay. Fairly short, spicy, mildly herbal finish. Tried this alongside Rabbit Hole Dareringer - bourbon finished in sherry casks - and liked this better.

On the nose I get grain, grass, oak, honey and vanilla. Pastry sweetness on the tongue with cinnamon, brown sugar and frosting. A hint of apple and pear. Oak lingers as the sip ends with baking spices.

Nose is lumber and caramel custard baseline with sharper spices poking through. Clove, as per the expert review, or black tea. Chocolate cherry, sure. Rich and spicy creme brulee on the tongue with loads of oak and a splash of cherry, reminds me of a barrel aged Vieux Carre cocktail. Not overly sweet, hallelujah, doesn’t veer into liquid dessert territory. Tannic, spicy finish reflects the overall balance. Delicious.

Grainy caramel cocoa nose. Sweet caramel palate with apple and vanilla and that wheaty softness. Nice oaky burn on the finish.

Intriguing nose with almond, apricot, sandalwood, vanilla and cinnamon. Up until i smelled this i wondered if it was a hoax. The palate is oily and honeyed. Caramel, peach, vanilla, oak. Delicious long fruity finish.

Sweet berry nose from the port. Palate is a weird juxtaposition of corn and port notes slapped together. Doesn’t really work for me. Tastes like a thin, undeveloped bourbon disguised with extraneous fruit. Short finish. Not great.

Nose is yeasty sawdust, vanilla and honey. Taste is remarkably smooth baklava, layered honey, paper thin bread and vanilla with a hint of caramel. Undertones of orange blossoms. A sweet, rounded finish. Warehouse FS. Bottle 79-6 H.
