Tastes

Nose is vanilla and oak. Palate is fruity: some apple but mostly darker fruits. Oak. End was a sweetish leathery note. Glad to finally see it somewhere outside of KY!

I’ll be sure to keep this one in stock. Its sweet nose remains on the palate, giving way to maple and grape/currant. Vanilla finishes the show with a mild finish. I hope this one stays somewhat available at its current price.

This nose provides nutty, oak, (maybe peach?), and toffee tones. Palate is an okay vanilla. Any bourbon that mellows into leather notes on the finish is alright by me.

This is the Binny’s Single Barrel pick, so it’s unique. Nose: high-proof heat with some caramel/butterscotch sweetness and undertones of green apple. Perhaps (very tentatively) some mint. Palate: the high proof and caramel carry over to coat the tongue all the way to the back of the throat, leaving some light oak back there with it. Apple sweetness floats lightly around the mid-palate atop the linger baking spices. The long finish is welcome because of it’s warm pie intimation.

Nose has brown sugar and star anise, along with faint hints of green apple. The anise/cinnamon carries through on the palate, along with caramel/vanilla sweetness. Both have mild endurance while the spice lingers.

Fruit and vanilla on the nose, oak on the back. It is relatively flat otherwise.
