Tastes

I do not like the nose on this. The taste is much sweeter than I expected. It’s not bad but not great either. I will try other ryes so I have something to compare to.

My first barrel strength. I like it. I expected it to burn my face off but it was smooth.

It’s good. I get a slightly strange aftertaste that I can’t quite put my finger on. Maybe it’s the port wine. I’ll try it again tomorrow and see if it comes across differently. I tried it again a few days after opening and I like it much better than the first time. The strange taste I was getting is barely there and it’s much sweeter on the nose and taste.

Nose- honey, apple, vanilla Taste- slightly sweet yet tart. Hint of apple. Finish- slight burn, medium finish

Very sweet brown sugar notes with hints of vanilla. Tingles the tongue a bit.

Smelled of white wine, peaches, vanilla and floral notes. My first scotch and I’m quite impressed. I sipped it neat and with ice. I could sip this daily. A few days after opening the bottle the smell and flavor changed. Now it smells like banana laffy taffy in a good way. The flavor is pretty much the same just stronger and richer.
