Stagg Jr Barrel Proof Bourbon Batch 12
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed January 17, 2020 (edited January 12, 2021)Strong, bold and well balanced bourbon flavors. I need a back up right away. Favorite bourbon so far N(4.75): luxurious and bold aromas. Bright cherries with vanilla right behind. Hint of cocoa. Cherry coke also comes out. Also got some type of bright candied fruit. P(4.5): mouth feel. Omg. Creamy coating all over. Cherry tart sweetness with a touch of oak in the mid pallet. Heavy vanilla cream from the mid to back. Smooth and well balanced. F(4.5): nice amount of heat. Got a hug without breathing fire. No need for water for me. The pallet flavors carries to the finish strong. Beautiful oak. Just enough of bitterness.100.0 USD per BottleMission Wine & Spirits -
Barrell Dovetail (122.9 Proof)
Blended American Whiskey — (bottled in) Kentucky, USA
Reviewed January 15, 2020 (edited December 7, 2020)Neck pour. Letting it sit in a gc for 10 mins. Will definitely revisit this baby for an update. Mmmmmm so mmmmm N(4.5): raisin dominant. Heavy feeling aromas. Like there’s some weight behind it. Molasses sweetness and vanilla mint in the back ready to come out. P(5): initial sip. Citrus lemon that immediate transforms into a melody of berries then spice comes in. Couldn’t identify the flavors from the first sip After same berry hit that is followed by a wave of vanilla and title wave of rum. The mouth feel is very coating and luxurious. Complex and flavorful Tip. After you swallow keep mouth close to enjoy the amazing burst of flavors F(4.5): fresh vanilla cream with raising soaking in it. I so want it to finish longer because it’s so good. It does make you want to go back. I went back for a second helping.72.0 USD per BottleGlendale Liquor -
About half way through. Gc. Good daily. Only unique feature is the coating feeling in the aromas to palat N(3.5): peanuts. Don’t remember getting this before. Maybe because of the air. Creamy feel to the aroma. Dried prune sweetness P(3.5): comes in coating creaminess. Not a punchy flavor. Light vanilla sweetness. F(3.5): some hug. Sweet medium finish. Oak covered vanilla stands out the most.40.0 USD per Bottle

Four Roses Small Batch Select Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed January 13, 2020 (edited February 3, 2020)I picked up this beauty at Costco. Heard some mix reviews on youtube, both good and bad. I had a chance to try it a couple of months ago, so when I saw it on the shelves, I had to pick it up. Bottle is just past the shoulders opened up 3-4 weeks ago. N(4.5): Spilled some on the counter and wiped it off my hands. My hands smelled of sweet vanilla bean simmering in flower water. In the glass. Floral oak comes to my for front and right behind is some type of sweetness or combination of sweetness. Maybe a mature berry or combination of honey and brown sugar mixed. The very end there's a touch of fresh spicy herb...maybe a mint. You can definitely spend time sniffing because it evolves. P(4.5): Super sweet in the front and a flood of spice right behind. Mouth is warm and filled with a river of vanilla oak. Second sip, I get a flavorful oak, not that bitter burned oak. Like an herbal oak. Not as sweet but it is interesting and entertaining. The sweetness takes a back seat as you continue to explore. Just enough bitterness for me...like the right % of cacao in a chocolate. F(4.25): Drying but the taste lingers. Vanilla and oak. Long but medium to light. My tongue felt leathery. Got a gentle hug. No fire breathing, just a nice warmth. If you let take some time between sips, you can taste some sweet floral notes. Like a white flower...not that I've tasted one before, it what it feels like.48.0 USD per BottleCostco Wholesale -
One of the first bottles I purchased off a recommendation from the clerk at the store. Open for about 5 months and a little over 1/3 through N(3.75): delightful nose. Gentle though. Sweet honey drizzled over berries initially. After a couple of sips, it transforms into sugared oak with red berries in the back seat. P(3.5): honey covered berries in the front and vanilla and oak in the mid to back pallet with two dashes of spice. Flavors become less pronounced sip after sip. Easy to drink. Just not something interesting enough to study F(3.5): light linger of oak and vanilla. No hug and a tiny bit of spice. Doesn’t wow you but enjoyable. I recommend this as a party drink. You don’t have to pay attention to it but it’s enjoyable.40.0 USD per BottleUncle Fossil Wine & Spirits

Single Pot Still — Ireland
Reviewed January 3, 2020 (edited July 14, 2020)Neck pour. Gc. 10 min to breathe. This was my favorite purchased Irish whiskey bottle. N(4.5): let’s you know this is cask strength. After some time of appreciating it, I got dried apricots on the right nostril, floral, honey coat. Tropical fruit. P(5): OMG. Complex and beautiful. Fresh sweet fruit melody And a spice combo. The mouth feel....wow. Wow. F(5): spice coating that evolves to vanilla fruit melody. Nice hug. Mild oak. Spices. Let’s you know it’s aged beautifully but not too long. Giving it a 5 because of uniqueness, value, and frankly best whiskey I had to date. My senses demanded another pour.65.0 USD per Bottle -
