I suggest putting a drip of water into this to open up the flavor palette. Without the water I get all the flavor on the nose and not much once it moves to the back - and very little aftertaste. After the water to open it up - it smells slightly fruity and malty. A very even taste front to back- fairly smooth, hints of vanilla and a fruity scent. Dark caramel in color. Overall, I enjoyed it and would drink it again. I am also originally from Wyoming and love the uniqueness of this small batch to commemorate the eclipse.

Aberlour A'bunadh
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed August 15, 2017 (edited October 6, 2017)This is one of my faves. It is not for the faint of heart. Being cask strength it really gives you a punch, but it is literally bursting with various flavors and tones. The sherry in it is easy to catch. Some good sweet depth throughout and a long lingering aftertaste. Make sure to add a few drops of water as the flavor opens up dramatically. -
My expectations were pretty low for this one as the price is very low. However, I was pleasantly surprised. I taste mostly malt and oak, with a slight hint of sweet on the very back end. Smoother than I would have expected. Mixes well also if you are looking for something to make cocktails. Nothing fancy and not a super deep or complex flavor, but not bad either.
