Old Forester 100 Proof Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed March 22, 2021 (edited May 31, 2021)I LOVE this bourbon. After a few more glasses this is definitely my favorite so far. Yes, even more than Wild Turkey 101 which was my favorite before trying the Old Forester 100. Nose: I smell the heat with this one! Alcohol and brown sugar and dark fruit. Palate: Oak, dark chocolate, more dark fruit, incredible mouth feel, and some nice spice that lingers. Finish: Warm, long, more dark fruit and a hint of bitter chocolate. So good! Best finish I have had yet. Love it. -
One of my favorites so far! Very good sipper!!! Nose: Brown sugar and alcohol. Hint of citrus. Palate: Wow. This has so much flavor. Bitter chocolate, dark fruit, woody, and maybe some pepper. Has some great heat to it! Love the 100 proof. Finish: Wonderful finish! Long with some great warmth. One of my favorite finishes to date. Very good.

First rye I have tried. Not too intense and nice spice. Overall I like it. Plus I am a native of New Orleans, so there’s that. Lol. Nose: Sweet, vanilla, spicy Palate: Spice, pepper, bitter herb Finish: Bittersweet. Seriously. Tastes bitter and sweet at the same time. Tastes a little herbal/ medicinal to me too.

Evan Williams Single Barrel Vintage
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed December 31, 2020 (edited January 1, 2021)I like this one even though it’s a little hard for me to pick out the notes on it. This is what I find. Nose: mostly fruity and some vanilla Palate: the same fruity with additional spice and even some bite to it (in a good way) Finish: nice moderate finish with spice remaining in the end. I like this one because it seems a bit more complex than what I have tried before. I like the ride. -
Wild Turkey Bourbon 101
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed December 29, 2020 (edited January 15, 2021)One of my favorite daily sippers. Nose: butterscotch and citrus Palate: toasty and vanilla and cinnamon Finish: long and warm and woody I absolutely love this bourbon. Amazing price point, flavor, and proof. Try it. You will not regret it! -
I am not a fan of this whiskey at all. I have really enjoyed many of the bourbons and whiskeys that I have tasted so far. This one does have a peanut butter taste (I love peanut notes) but it is SO sweet. To the point I could not enjoy it at all. It tastes like I put several spoon fulls of sugar in my glass. Interesting but not for me.
