Jefferson's Ocean Aged at Sea Voyage 23
Bourbon — USA
Reviewed September 17, 2022 (edited November 12, 2022)Sweet smell. Taste is good and pretty sweet. All in all this is a good stock bourbon but it doesn’t have a very long or complex finish. -
Barrell Bourbon Batch 031
Bourbon — (bottled in) Kentucky, USA
Reviewed September 9, 2022 (edited July 19, 2023)Lot of spice, which isn’t surprising given the proof. It does seem to drink a bit like a rye to me. Overall it’s decent but didn’t blow me away. Given some other reviews will come back to this one after it breathes a little more. Similar to others, neck pour was very hot and spicy. Went back after to re-rate and had a very different experience. It still drinks like a rye, but with a small cube has a butterscotch and desert flavor with a mich smoother and sweet profile. The bit of kick is still there like a higher rye but the sweetness balances it out greatly. Closest thing I can think of is like sucking on a spicy worthers. Changed from 3.0 to 4.00. -
Calumet Farm 15 Year Single Rack Black Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed September 2, 2022 (edited July 14, 2024)Some heat at the beginning. Had with one cube and as time went on it mellowed out and became sweeter and fruity flavors came out. Decently long finish but not crazy. Needs a cube to bring out the flavor and get through the heat. -
Extreme peat. Smell is smoky and have had people say it reminds them of railroad ties. Peat flavor explodes in your mouth and the taste lingers. Something I really enjoy when I’m in the right mood, but generally just a pour. The smell and taste will linger in my mouth, even well after I finish the glass. All in all a great scotch for those who enjoy bold peat flavor.160.0 USD per Bottle
