Tastes

Powerful. Rich, strong, and meaty, as described. Bacon smoked with tar smoke. Other flavors blend in well. Worth a try. I had a friend (who doesn't drink whisky) smell it, and she said 'salt rimmed new tires'. I can't argue with that. That may not sound appealing, but it all works out nicely.

Cheap - fine for mixing I suppose. I overpaid - could've got it cheaper at a different store. Live and learn.

Last few times I've had this I just wasn't feeling it. Update: tried it with Coke and thought how bad could it be, but no, still bad.

I really liked this at first, but not so much now. Something about the Four Roses recipe that I'm discovering is not up my alley. Single barrel is pretty decent, but this and the regular small batch have lost favor with me.

At first I just got dusty corn and not much else. Wasn't impressed. Subsequent pours have been a little better, but even at the sub-$30 price point, I won't be coming back. With a few drops water: better; less alcohol clears the way for the caramel and vanilla to show. Still, it's just not for me.

A wonderful, unique scotch. Perhaps it's the barley that distinguishes it from the rest. Along with that, lots of nice flavors, a rich creamy feel, and a welcoming 100 proof touch to finish it off. Whether you go back for a second purchase depends on your taste, but you at least have to try this.

Full bodied, apples, oak, vanilla. Really tasty. Wish it was a little easier on the wallet, but worth it.
