Woodman's pick, 2020. 1-B3-0284. 36% rye. Cherry cola, burnt sugar. I like the fullness, with the spice and sweet. I don't like Four Roses so I guess I shouldn't like this, but I do. Oh, did I mention I found it for $29.99?

Nice nose. Taste is pleasant but a bit boring. Trying this again and much better this time around. Lots more flavor. I get it now. Very enjoyable.

Smooth and pleasant, but don't understand the rave reviews.

Rich texture with strong silky oak and dark sugars. Add a little caramel, some spice, and maybe a pinch of bitter chocolate and you have yourself a fine pour. The oak profile is the star of the show. I don't feel that it's overly complex, but it doesn't need to be. It just is what it is, and it's high end, and it's really good. It took a few sips to figure this one out and once I did it was thumbs up all the way.

Didn't do much for me at first, but my last pour was quite nice. Smooth creamy corn with just a tad of that corn dust - all good. I'm not getting all those things the expert reviewer mentions, but ok. We'll see what happens next time around. A nice break from the usual.

I liked this one. A little nutty which usually rubs me the wrong way, but this worked. Candied nuts; velvety, but dries nicely on the tongue. Maybe a little tobacco in there. Cinnamon on the nose. Yum.

First couple sips are hot and biting. It does calm down to reveal an almost creamy sweetness with that nutty taste others have mentioned. Not so sure I like that nuttiness in my rye, but it's unique and grew on me a bit. The rye profile itself is a very pleasant one. I'll come back to sip this again, but most of the bottle will be for [very good] mixers. 2nd go-around makes me less afraid of using this as a sipper. I mean, why not? There's good flavors in there if you're patient. I'm curious to put this head to head with Rittenhouse.
