1792 Small Batch Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed November 4, 2019 (edited December 3, 2019)Rye spice. Caramel. Minty. Can't really expect much more from a sub-$30 bottle. Will buy again. I do not get 'hot' or 'burn' as others have noted. Very sippable - would not mix. Curious to try other expressions.26.0 USD per Bottle -
Jim Beam Black Label Extra-Aged
Bourbon — Kentucky , USA
Reviewed November 1, 2019 (edited December 8, 2019)Corn and oak. Pleasant for sipping. Profile is slightly above the price point. Wouldn't purchase for home, but happy to sip at the saloon. -
Price shown is for a litre. Inexpensive and quite good. Todfe/Caramel/Oak - very pleasant. Comes through kinda hot (100 proof after all), which came close to overwhelming the flavor. 90 proof would have been preferred, for me anyway. I added a fee drops of water to cut it, but that muted the flavor way too much. Overall, pretty darn good - I'll be back for more.19.99 USD per Bottle

Evan Williams Single Barrel Vintage
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed October 12, 2019 (edited October 13, 2019)Barrelled: 7/20/11 Barrell #832 Bottled 6/1/19 Caramel, wood, dusty peanuts (maybe a little too dusty). Mouthfeel and finish, very nice. A nice bottle for the price, but I wouldn't pay much more. Update: 1 yr later: just tried neat; not enjoying at all. It's been relegated to whiskey/cokes. I think now that I have been exposed to better drams, this one falls flat. Fine for the price, but (sorry if I sound like a snob) I've moved on. Buy again: 1/1019.99 USD per Bottle -
Good dose of rye with a little sweet. Orange, spices. Has a sweet richness that I wouldn't expect from a rye, but what do I know? This is pretty good. I won't be afraid to come back and sip on this again, and for the price, a mixed drink or two is sounding like a fine idea. Finish has a nice, subtle peppery spice.22.0 USD per Bottle

Heat. Cinnamon. Peanuts. Dark fruits. Thick strong flavors to be sure. You really do get your money's worth here. A few drops of water brings out more of the oak notes imo (and tames the high proof of course). Hey, it's good, but just not for me. I totally understand the high ratings, but the flavor profile is outside my wheelhouse, for whatever reason.48.0 USD per Bottle
