Has some rye tendencies for a bourbon. Don't hate it - muted bite for 101 proof. Earthy, grainy, not a lot of flavors jumping out but it's easy to drink. I think the (other, non estate bottled) Old Bardstown may be better.

*This is the Makers Mark Cask Strength* It has a similar profile to the 46 and a less smooth finish than the private selection. I like the oak flavors, the spice, and the hidden sweetness. Overall being unfiltered it finished a little rougher than the lower proof Makers. Still very good.

110.3 proof / 55.15% My nickname is "Woody" for this one - has great flavor profile. It has more bite than the private selection that was a lower proof. Deep wood flavors, very tasty, tangy. I dont get as much as the normal sweetness of Makers but there is some, in addition to more caramel and cinnamon flavors - which for me makes it even more drinkable. Very nice

*This is the 2020 Rob Samuels personal selection. 105.5 proof / 54.25%* Familiar sweet tones your accustomed to from Makers Mark with a strong addition of wood tones, more bite, deeper flavor, rich but incredibly smooth. Was very popular.

Tasting neat. Gives you an upfront minty or alcoholic whiff that could be unpleasant for some but doesn't linger in the taste. I'm getting a lot of different flavors - vanilla originally, some fruits (cherry/orange), and oak. After letting open up - you get more of sweet flavors like molasses, maple, and a hint of chocolate. Much better opened up, IMO.

This is the 'Amsden Bourbon Bar private selection' - Notes: Great heat that doesn't burn with a calm toasted flavor. Excellent to sip, leaves a warming feel. Carries a sweet, toffee-like aroma. Great taste and drink-ability One of the best Knob Creek I've had.

*Tasting the 4 yr Rye*. Full-bodied, spice and heat all the way.. definetly warms you up. Cant go wrong with this as a rye choice.

Tasting on the rocks. Earthy, different finish that is pretty intriguing. Minty, effervescent in a sense. Easy to drink.

Tasting alone on the rocks. Initially dont like its finish, finding it hard to nail down the flavors. Bland.

I am trying the Rye, not small batch (wasn't in the app database). Tasting alone on the rocks. Very smooth, limited bite for a rye - more and more as it opens. Other flavors come out later, cinnamon, maybe slight vanilla. Quite tasty. Would highly recommend.
