Tastes

Light nose, muted but sweet aroma. A different tasting rye, almost nutty. Simple and good sipper. Small but good rye burn and Ky hug after.

Nice traditional style bourbon. Heavy corn yields sweet on nose and palate and has nice touch of heat with the rye. Good spice given the low % of rye. Caramel and vanilla body. Pleasant aroma, warming sensation. Feels stronger than a 90 proof.

Sweet nose of molasses and caramel. Minty, spicey, peppery rye taste, upfront and expected, but well balanced. Also get some fruits which is surprisingly good. Finishes well, not too hot or alcoholic linger. Pleasant rye.

Tasting neat. Slightly alcoholic nose, rye coming through. Taste more of pepper, whether that's mint or actual pepper. Small lingering aftertaste but still good.

Tasting neat. Good solid nose with caramel or butterscotch and a very smooth finish. Nothing rough here, could drink this all night.

Tasting neat. Unsure of the release year but is the toasted barrel at 86 proof. Pleasant nose, sweet tones, molasses perhaps. Mellow flavors, very smooth and creamy. For 86 proof, has a nice small bite with it. Sits well.

Tasting neat. (Unsure if this is the bottle in the distiller database but this is a 128 proof pour). At 128 proof it can feel long and heavy. May be easier opened up. Sweet tones both in nose and taste come through, especially after initial burn. Complex bourbon, would like to try again.

Tasting neat. Surprise! Much better than I would have thought. Could be considered among the 'best bang for your buck' - $20 version. Doesn't linger, palatable.

Tasting neat. Distinctly different from others I've had recently. Smooth, light. Very easy to drink. Makes other bourbons seem heavy and rough.

Tasting neat. Nice sweet nose to it, maple and molasses. Easy to drink, leaves a nice tingle and bite. More enjoyable than I would have guessed.
