Tastes

Oak and spice on the nose with some brown sugar. Dark cherries. Palate is more oak, brown sugar, some vanilla. Medium to long finish. A lot of oak but not over-oaked

Caramel and butterscotch nose. Definitely a wheater. More caramel, butterscotch, vanilla, and sweetness on the palate. Smooth. Sweet. Could use some more proof. I was pleasantly surprised after reading subpar reviews.

Nose has a little spice but isn’t as much as I expected. The flavor is stronger. Rye spice, some caramel, some vanilla. Has some nice heat but not a ton. Drinks smooth for the proof. Good, but I think Rare Breed Bourbon is better.

Spice on the nose. Has some grain, young, rye spice. Medium heat with a medium finish

Nose is deep and rich. Cherries and oak. Palate is more oak, less cherries and some vanilla. Tobacco, like a rich cigar. Not much heat reflecting the BiB proof. You can taste the age.

OBS pick. Aged 6 years. Mild nose. Has some sweetness. Soft. Medium finish for the proof.

Nose is subtle. Soft. Mildly sweet. Nice in the palate. Again, soft. Has some sweetness, vanilla. Short finish

Harry Phillips 66. Smell is young, corn/grain/vegetal. Not much heat. Has some mild sweetness, maybe vanilla, but the grain overwhelms. Taste is same. Short finish.

Decent. Mild baking spice but not much rye. Pretty smooth. Subtle cherry. Not too oaky given the rumored 15yr age. Good bourbon, very good for Dickel which I’m usually a big fan of. Not much that really stands out though. Was hoping for a little more for the price.

Heat and red hots on the nose. More on the palate but the heat isn’t overwhelming given the proof. Cinnamon. Oak. Fairly long finish
