Tastes

Sample. Nothing really special in this for me. It’s fine and I wouldn’t turn away another pour but won’t be buying it.

I like this just fine. I wouldn’t call it special, I wouldn’t call it trash. It tastes like a blend between a typical Irish whiskey and Scotch. It’s got that triple distilled smoothness with just a hint of smoke. I’ll happily sip on it if gifted to me as this was but probably won’t go out of my way to buy it.

New to barrel proof. Took me a few pours to get the ratio of water to taste. But once I did I enjoyed the heck out this bottle. Such good flavor. Really really good.

Had my eye on this for awhile. This was a sample. It has a nice nose, some citrus hints along with the usuals. It’s a dry bourbon, and quality. The finish is nice. Left me wishing I had more.

Probably overhyped but a solid bourbon. Classic on the nose, good flavor with depth, just enough heat. Very well balanced.

I can’t figure out this whiskey. There’s nothing remarkable for me. Sample from Flaviar box. Move along.

Good color and good on the nose. But very thin in the mouth. Not much there for me. Was a sample from Flaviar’s Whiskey Gangs of New York box.

This is the first Canadian whiskey I’ve sipped since re-exploring whiskeys. First impression was that it’s a bit bland which I kind of expected from a Canadian. But I have enjoyed this glass more and more as I’ve gone on. As a mainly bourbon drinker I appreciate the wine finished notes and am glad I have it in the cabinet. It was BOGO at Publix liquors and I couldn’t pass up that deal to dip my toes in Canadian brown waters.

Was slightly disappointed with the first pour after having high expectations. But as I’ve gotten into the bottle I’ve enjoyed it more and more. A nice full flavor profile that hits all the right notes.

Relatively new to Scotch. This is somewhat light but really well balanced. The mouthfeel is great and though it’s not a complex taste it keeps me coming back for another pour.
