Aberlour 10 Year
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed January 27, 2017 (edited April 24, 2018)Sweet and fruity. Not too harsh but still full of character. As entry level sherry cask whiskys go this is a fine tipple. -
Glenlivet The Master Distiller's Reserve
Single Malt — Speyside, Scotland
Reviewed January 26, 2017 (edited April 24, 2018)Nose is rather underwhelming, quite sharp and almost like a blend. Fruity on the tounge but finish has a lot of burn so water is required. -
Dalwhinnie Winter's Gold
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed January 25, 2017 (edited April 24, 2018)Nose is distinctly fruity, reminiscent of a packet of basset fruit salads. Initially on the palate it seems quite light but the finish is long and harsher than expected from a Dalwhinnie. It burns like a winters chill, even though this is suggested in the name its not nessecarily a good thing. -
Raasay While We Wait
Single Malt — Islands, Scotland
Reviewed January 22, 2017 (edited June 8, 2017)Good mix of peat flavour with usual sweetness associated with a sherry type cask or in this case a wine cask. Has the lingering character you might associate with a 15 or 18 year old Whisky.
