Hacienda de Chihuahua Sotol Reposado
Sotol — Chihuahua, Mexico
Reviewed August 17, 2020 (edited November 6, 2020)Smell: light agave, salt, some spice?, just tequila smelling honestly Snifter: vegetal taste that kinda leaves an almost woody finish, pepper, agave taste is kinda gone more in the background, some dirt/earthy, On ice: agave begining which mixes with a cinnamon taste and then to the earth notes and then has a vegetal finish. Really wonderful evolution of taste when on ice Verdict: Try It. This isnt tequila, and there is nothing wrong with that, however fans of tequila should most certainly try this cousin of tequila as it still has agave notes, but takes more vegetal and earth flavors that tequila only hints at. -
Smell: lot of alcohol, juniper, floral, some zest, Neat: good amount of juniper, floral, good amount of heat, some zest/rind On Ice: orange, citrus rind comes through more, still decent amount of heat, piney, def a london dry style with the amount of juniper Verdict: Try It: This is a great starter gin for those who want to know what gin is and what gin cocktails are like as this gin is meant to be mixed in many cocktails. It's very middle of the road for me which leaves a lot to be desired, but I would personally suggest better gins out there that sre around the same price as this one. You can definitely find this at a bar due to it's recent popularity so give it a try25.0 USD per Bottle

Chartreuse Green Liqueur
Herbal/Spice Liqueurs — France
Reviewed July 30, 2020 (edited December 19, 2020)Smell: fennel, licorice, ethanol (55% Alcohol will do that), menthol, anise, clove Neat: white sugar (like dissolving), anise, fennel, licorice, mint/menthol, vanilla?, heat (higher proof), wormwood (leaves mouth dry like absinthe), cinnamon, On Ice: vanilla, white sugar, menthol, clove, anise, fennel, licorice, cinnamon, Verdict: Share it, this is a delicious herbal liqueur that I have never had anything like it. I jokingly say that Absinthe wishes that it tasted and looked like Green Chartreuse. For those that are interested in exploring Absinthe, I 100% recommend getting and trying this liqueur out to see if you may like the flavor profiles, though I do warn that absinthe won’t be nearly as sweet as Green Chartreuse is. I have made fantastic drinks with this bottle, and I cannot recommend enough to get this and share it with friends to see if they pick up any flavors that you missed since there are at least 130 different ingredients/botanicals in this bottle.55.0 USD per Bottle -
Smell: malt, peat, bit o' honey, citrus peel, honey, (most of the smell notes are subtle so it mixes with the ethanol, which makes it kinda hard to pinpoint or distinguish smells) Neat: peaty, slightly sweet/honey, wisp of smoke, it has a finish that is similar to Johnnie Walker (which I am not a fan of whatsoever) On Ice: more floral notes, more peat. This addition of ice/water extends the flavor profile, which for me is a two edged sword since I love the beginning of this whiskey but hate the finishing J.W-esque notes. Verdict: Try it: Ironically for this Hibiki Harmony, this whiskey is the opposite of harmonious to me. There are two distinct flavor profiles that follow each other and do not mesh well. There is one kind of scotch that is light, floral and slightly peaty, while there is another that resembles Johnnie Walker which I personally despise. As much as I was looking forward to this Japanese whiskey I was initially terribly disappointed in this, but it has grown on me. I think that it’s not bad enough to skip since it has a good reputation and i shouldn’t let my personal vendetta or bias against the johnnie walker flavor profile steer people away from this whiskey.75.0 USD per Bottle

Old Forester 1870 Original Batch
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed July 30, 2020 (edited September 13, 2020)Smell: cherry/dark fruit, cinnamon, hint of vanilla, bit of wood/oaky, some citrus peel Neat: wood/oaky, cinnamon, spicy notes, hint of vanilla, cherry, spiceful (full of spice flavor), wood tannin bitterness finish, On ice: less spicy notes, spices more forward (especially cinnamon and clove), cherry disappears sadly, still has woody finish. Verdict: Share It: This is a very good bourbon for its price that has all the characteristics of a bourbon that is full of different and complex flavors instead of being one or two flavor forward as other bourbons are.45.0 USD per Bottle -
Smell: Agave, Black Pepper, Salt, A good amount of ethanol Neat: woody, vanilla, black pepper, light agave, earthy, phantom notes of honey, On ice: black pepper, white pepper, woody, background of agave flavor, earthy, wood tannin finish. Verdict: Buy It; not too expensive while having some complexity in flavor that keeps making me come back to it. Not the best anejo, but definitely a lot better than other anejos out there.45.0 USD per Bottle
