Old Forester 1870
Old Forester // Kentucky, USA
Old Forester 1870 pays tribute to the Old Forester's status as the first bottled bourbon. To recreate the original Old Forester's flavor profile, barrels from three different warehouses with different production dates, barrel entry proof and maturation dates are blended into the final bottling. Light bodied and much more fruit forward than other Old Forester marques, Old Forester 1870 is made for mixing and will shine in an Old Fashioned or Manhattan cocktail.
BourbonProduced anywhere in USA; Mash bill of at least 51% corn; aged in new, charred oak barrels.
Cask Typenew, charred American oak
"A striking copper color in the glass, aromas of light vanilla, rich caramel and toasted oak with notes of apple, pear and brown sugar makes for an enticing nose. Light in the mouth, with medium oak and cinnamon flavors offset by sweet notes of baked apples, vanilla, and mint. The finish is quick and easy, with baking spice and mint disappearing off of the palate. "
