Old Forester 1920 Prohibition Style
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed January 23, 2018 (edited July 5, 2018)OF1920 is my current favorite readily available bottle. Solid heat. Pronounced barrel char, balanced by the sweetness of caramel and vanilla - with subtle coffee notes. Long, warm finish. Dare I say I enjoy 1920 as much - if not more than - most of the OFBB pours I’ve tried? Once you factor in the price.. This one is a clear winner. -
Basil Hayden Dark Rye
Other Whiskey — Multiple Countries
Reviewed January 3, 2018 (edited February 26, 2018)Not a whiskey when you’re craving whiskey.. The rye blend is dominated by the port - making for a sweet almost dessert-like experience. Pronounced dark berry and vanilla custard tones on the palate. Very low heat and minimal rye spice. Truly a unique and unexpected pour. -
Booker's Bourbon Batch 2017-04 Sip Awhile
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed January 3, 2018 (edited February 12, 2018)My first bottle of Bookers, and it definitely lives up to expectations. Surprisingly complex for a not so subtle cask strength pour. Tons of cinnamon and vanilla with hints of char. Might need to grab a backup bottle before the batch disappears.
