Hoffman’s Party Store/SWMBH 2023 Pick - Aged 9y bottles at 125.2 proof Nose: An extremely pleasant and sweet aroma with huge hints of caramel and vanilla accompanied with cinnamon spice. The longer you let it breathe, the sweeter the aroma becomes. Palate: Absolute flavor bomb. First is a taste of spice that explodes in your mouth, which then transitions to the sweetness found on the nose. It drinks a little hot at first - not too surprising at 125 proof - but after letting it breathe that heat turns into a nice Kentucky Hug. The finish is looooooooong and pleasant. This is a pour that punches you in the face. It’s full of flavor, however I struggle to pick out any discernible notes that surface from the nose.

Super Liquor IV pick - aged 14 years Nose: cloves, baking spices, and oak sticks dominate the nose accompanied by wavering hints of cherry. and oak. After letting it breathe, strong notes of spiced apples start to emerge. Palate: a powerful wave of spice washes over your tongue, leaving in its wake strong notes of spices apples, pears, and cherries. The finish is long snd lingers for days - spicy, dry, and somewhat bitter. I am incredibly impressed with this bottle, and wonder if other single barrels are as good as this one. The spice is incredibly powerful but after letting it breathes you get more dried and spiced fruits. Turning into a daily sipper for me.

Nose: SWEET. Boquets of dried fruit drenched in honey with a drizzle of caramel. Palate: (After letting it breath for 15min) A wave of honied dry fruits with a dash of cinnamon. Each sip delivers a new fruit to the foreground. Finish: Short-medium length. As the tingle on your tongue fades you find your mouth becoming dry, jusr begging for the bext taste. This is one of my favorite pours when im in the mood for something sweet. Though ive never found it at the fabeled MSRP, im happy when i can pick it up for around $50.

A lot of cherry, spices, and cola on the nose which are displayed front and center when taking a sip. Definitely a new one for me, and very welcome. Glad I got a backup!

That tabacco taste is not for me. Tastes like dried fruits and a fresh cigarette. Not bad, not great, but definitely not worth the price point.

What a complex pour. VERY smooth, i get general sweetness, vanilla, oak, and a bit of candied apples. Wish i had a bottle and not a pour.

Update: I rated this a 4/5 originally after i had my first pour at a bar. Since then i have scooped up my own bottle and it is not the same bourbon. Your mileage will vary greatly depending on the barrel. The pour i was was on the sweeter side with vanilla, oak, and a little bit of spice. The bottle I bought is much spicier - almost like a rye. It’s still good and I have no regrets, but a bourbon that differs that much isnt a 4/5 in my book.

I was able to snag a store pick and WOW, i am honestly blown away. I refuse to believe this is only a 4y/o bottle. I get a lot of caramel apple up front that leads into a rush of spice and a warm hug. The finish is long and lingers for well over a minute, quickly resulting in an empty glass. This is a borubon i would break out on a brisk fall day, however I find myself unable to wait until then. If you see a store pick, BUY IT! You won’t regret it.

Painfully smooth, however there is a very forward herbal funk that does not jive with my palate.

Great bourbon taste up front with an almost overkill sweet finish. Good but not great - much better barreled old fashioneds.
