On the nose: I get corn, corn and… sweet corn On the palate: Caramel and sweet corn are the flavors on the forefront here. Wouldn’t normally think of this combination, but it works here The finish: A moderate finish that allows the caramel to take over and finish things out Overall: A bit one-dimensional. Certianly not bad, but not overtly interesting either

On the nose: I get raw vanilla and cinnamon, with a hint of banana and coconut On the palate: Its pretty extreme, with an explosive introduction to cinnamon and tropical fruit. Be warned, it bites! The finish: A good, lengthy finish. Sits for just the right amount of time without wearing out its welcome Overall: This probably wouldn’t be my go-to, but its decent if you’re looking for a flavor that packs a punch

On the nose: I get toasted vanilla with toffee and nuts On the palate: Like melted butter. The taste is rich and smooth, like going over to Grandma’s house to help her prepare a fresh batch of cookies. Hint of cherry is possibly in there The finish: It’s a fine linger, more or less building off if the cookies flavor. Overall: I really like this! It’s rich in flavor but still a relatively light feeling bourbon

Jack Daniel's Old No. 7
Tennessee Whiskey — Tennessee, USA
Reviewed January 1, 2024 (edited May 17, 2024)On the nose: I get strong scents of banana and a hint of sweet creamed corn On the palate: Banana Pudding is the primary flavor here, with vanilla and toasted graham cracker The finish: Long and crisp, with mostly the same flavors but with an added hint of tropical fruit that goes well with the banana-forward flavor Overall: I used to not enjoy Jack very much, but perhaps it has grown on me a little more recently. A “safe bet” whiskey that is probably best for mixing, but can be enjoyed on its own if in a pinch -
On the nose : tangerine, slight banana, and sweet cherries On the palate: A more floral noted bourbon with hints of cinnamon and toasted brown sugar blended together The finish: An oaky, spicy finish! Overall: Give this one a try if you can! Its a uniquely light-hearted bourbon that is refreshing after a round or two of cocktails
