Tastes

Been a second since I’ve had the small batch but I think I like that better. This one is so smooth, so light, so perfect for a BIB. But it’s heavy oak, less sweet which isn’t my love. This is still phenomenal.

Not the right one but couldn’t find it. 7 year - 94 proof. Not gonna lie, this one isn’t terrible but it’s my cheapest and most of this bottle was spent making mixed drinks. It’s light, inoffensive, oaky and the only sweetness I get is the beginning.

If I wasn’t already drunk, this would be undrinkable. No more straight. This is a mixer and I’m not sure a mixer will save it but it’ll get you drunk..maybe…

This is definitely a pallet shock. Very full bodied with an absolute kick. A strong caramel taste with a cinnamon back a little fruit. Drinks like it’s proof for sure. Seems to be BP or bust for Larceny and me.

Not bad but nothing special. No defining qualities but thats to be expected for $20/liter. Sweet, light, baking spices.

Very different in a very light way. Distilled at a higher proof (which you taste) but takes away from the body of the whiskey. A sweet taste but I can’t pinpoint the flavor or any other flavors. This is gonna be one that I’m gonna have to sample for awhile to get a read on. Extra .25 since penelope is the best!

Against other reviews, I really don’t get the heat with this as much as others of this proof. I get some pepper taste, almost a little peanut, something making it sweet (probably some vanilla) and there’s a flavor I can’t place. Very interesting but I’m glad I was able to get this one. Another I need to come back to.

Really didn’t give this a fair shake the first time. Oddly not as hot as the regular store pick. I almost get maple on the nose which is odd. Body is light and uneventful but inoffensive. I don’t love the finish (it’s finishes like a light rye). But I won’t cut on it anymore.

Tons of oak/leather taste (obviously) but a lot lighter than anticipated. Not my fav because of this odd aftertaste, almost sour.

Was told this was fireball on steroids and so true. Body is so hot like it’s all spice and cinnamon. Definitely have to enjoy that to love this (I do). A little sweetness to keep it balanced but this is all spice. Makers just always kills it!
