I loved C&K’s lower proof wheated so had to get this one. Upon fresh crack was very disappointed, it didnt taste like the other. Then i revisited 6 mo post-cracking & it’s phenomenal. Very wheaty-raisin forward which was surprising.

Maybe I had a bad bottle, since I love the other 13th colony offerings, but this tasted a lot younger with more ethanol.

Its 80 proof, the only thing holding this review back, fantastic otherwise. Its a higher rye mashbill, making it a nicer beginner intro into rye’s.

If you need a conversation bottle, this is it. Every one who comes over wants a pour, and then wants another. The greatest compliment i get is people asking where I got it! Beautiful art-deco bottle plus the juice is great too. I prefer higher proof (100+), but man this is good. Notes of buttery pecans, matching the barrel finish.

This was on clearance for $20, I’ll buy anything barrel-proof for that. Polarizing bottle, some days I really enjoyed, others not so much. It’s smooth but spicy, with no real finish. At retail, probably wouldn’t purchase again (~$60-$70 in my area).

My local store had this on sale so took a swing, glad I did! Can definitely notice the port finishing, in the best way possible. My first pot stilled, and was a good first impression. Pot stills are lower proofed, but with this one it drinks higher than 90. Nose: Cherry Cola Palate: Dark fruit Finish: More cherry

I love wheated bourbon’s, this being an exception. The nose smells like a field of hay (+) but the palate is wet grass with no finish (-).

Just a nice, smooth whiskey for the entry level drinker. Would also be phenomel in an old fashion. Low proof so doesnt need to be served on ice either.

My local store had this on sale for $30/bottle ($50 MSRP). I had never had Dickel before & heard people complain about the minerality, but for that price I was willing to take a chance. Absolutely loved it. A 13-year for that price? I went and bought two more. It isnt the world’s smoothest, but would happily pay MSRP. Notes of peanut butter from the “minerality” in my opinion.

In the lense of a $30 bottle, it’s fantastic. I’m not typically a rye person, but I enjoyed over ice. Obvious rye spice with hints of fruit, good bottle for the value
