Subtle sweet smoke makes for a delicious sipper. It was on sale at $36.95, normally $40. At $30 I’d buy it all day, at $40 I take some time to look at the options.

Nose initially reminded me of bananas but on second try I recalled fresh markers and glue. The taste was pleasant on the first try but after smelling the fresh marker/glue smells it was hard to swallow on the second try. I should note these were two separate days. I really wanted to like this one but maybe I should have jumped in to the deep end with the 1920 instead.

It’s a decent entry single malt scotch but is just so simple and really doesn’t do much to earn the price tag. Older iterations are much better.

Very pleasant taste. Certainly the most bourbon-like scotch I have tried. Was on sale for nearly the same price as 12Y and is much, much better.

Smoke hits the nose at first but gives way to honey and a sweet fruit. Taste follows with more of the same but also seems to offer new surprises on each tasting. It’s easy to see why JW Green is often called the best value of the JW line. Added notes after finishing this bottle; nose is salty-sweet, honey, orange, and peat. Taste of sweet fruits, honey, and peat that lingers alongside the other tastes with an oily mouthfeel. Lingering flavor with very little burn.

The nose reminds me of breathing the air while sitting at a campfire that’s nearly burnt out next to the ocean. The taste is something to ease in to and strikes me as being a very love it or hate it sort of taste with salt smoke and meat coming to mind. Was on sale but usually goes for $55 here.

Nose is very nice and floral with a bit of spice and fruit. Taste of spice upfront that lingers but does eventually give way to more complex tastes I haven’t been able to place yet.

Nose has a very distinct fruit smell, mostly green apple, with a hint of wood on the end. Tastes smooth and sweet, again with very distinct fruit upfront and a medium finish. Very pleasant overall.

Sweet and subtle with floral and honey notes. Very smooth and gentle, fairly quick to fade. Excellent value for the price.
