Booker's Bourbon Batch 2020-02 "Boston Batch"
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed December 25, 2020 (edited April 8, 2021)First, It’s hot. Yes it’s barrel proof, but it tastes hotter to me than Elijah Craig or Knob Creek barrel proof offerings. Nose was giving me butterscotch, apple, orange peel, vanilla and strangely, dill. Flavors were abundant. Caramel apple, toasted oak, baking spices, cashews and vanilla. And very spicy. Wasn’t quite as smooth as some other barrel proof bourbons, but very good. Too expensive.100.0 USD per Bottle -
Knob Creek Single Barrel Reserve (Total Wine & More)
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed September 23, 2020Nose gives orange, brown sugar, baking spices, vanilla, char, mint, leather. Awesome. Smoky oak, vanilla, cinnamon, maple syrup on the palate. Spicy and pretty hot due to the proof, but a cube tames it a bit. Excellent. -
Jefferson's Ocean Aged at Sea Voyage 17
Bourbon — USA
Reviewed September 8, 2020 (edited March 29, 2021)Nose-vanilla, candied orange, tobacco and oak, especially pronounced when neat. Carmel, vanilla, char and baking spices on the palette. Super smooth. Though I usually prefer a small cube in mine, this one is better neat, I think. Very good.70.0 USD per BottleABC Stores -

Russell's Reserve 10 Year Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed June 15, 2019 (edited July 7, 2019)Cinnamon, clove and oak on the palette with quite a bit of honeyed sweetness. A sweet honey nose with charred wood notes. Not as powerful as I expected from a 10 yr bourbon but that is probably because they diluted it to 90 proof. Guessing this would be much better as a barrel proof bourbon or at least 100 proof one.
