Yellowstone Kentucky Straight Bourbon Finished with Toasted Oak Staves
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed April 6, 2024this bottle was given to me by my bosses husband for a work accomplishment. i have always been interested in trying a yellowstone product. This toasted barrel is a classic rendition on a toasted finished bourbon. it is a good and easy sipper at 100. preferential to start with and means even more that it was gifted to me. im excited to drink and share this -
Comparing to Penelope Rip Nose: graham cracker, honey, can smell the proof jump, cream cheese, peach. has an overall less desserty nose than an opened up rio. Body: nothing like rio. this has more traditional notes. i get some dark fruit as well as the creamy desserty notes. its a good balance between a fully finished dessert product and a traditional bourbon. its a great bottle. but it not what I had expected from my rio experience with similar finishing. Sorry to compare this to rio- its nothing like it. its good on its own accord- but someone else was going to come here looking for the same review.

Moonrise's Master Distiller "Best He Ever Made" Decanter Pour (1/27/2024)
Bourbon — USA
Reviewed January 27, 2024Nose: Traditional and Sweet. Creme Brulee Body: Full bodied, complex from beginning to end. Slow onset of the bite. Dessert in the Body and Finish. Finish: Graham cracker Proofed around 105 (He corrected me to 122 which i was suprised) It is hard to believe this bottle isnt finished in any way yet it was confirmed. It’s truly complete. Reminds me of my experience with ECBP C923. More dark fruit notes and dessert here, but the process follows. -
Moonrise Distillery Single Barrel Bourbon (Artisan Small Batch)
Bourbon — Clayton, Ga, USA
Reviewed January 27, 2024Traditional nose. This is like the base straight that was aged and proofed higher. Significantly better, however. I think tastes a little young and lacks enough complexity to really wow me. It’s good to me because its traditional notes and is proofed higher than the straight, and it is good- just not the it bottle. -
Moonrise Distillery Distillers Select Bourbon (Artisan Small Batch)
Bourbon — USA
Reviewed January 27, 2024Light nose. Toasted light caramel. Body: Small graham cracker/cornbread, more complex than the base straight. Dark cherry with more prominence. Finishes longer. Slightly dusty. This is a good bourbon.
