The palate savors the richness of the fruit and candy while whiffs of brine and salt reminds you that the sea is nearby. It finishes luxuriously while you savor the complexity of this malt. The perfect dram for those who want an island taste without the smoke and peat. Club Taste 9/24/20 KM -
Courtesy Kastle de la Kitchen First, this whiskey is not for the faint of heart. But if you’re prone to exploring all corners of the single malt universe don’t miss an opportunity to taste this dram. As you would expect at 170 ppm you need to cut the peat with a knife. It is thick and filling with chewy seaweed and brine. What then surprises most is the barrel sweetness that caresses the throat and smooths the edges of this amazingly full whiskey. At 58.7% abv, by all means add a few drops of water to open it up a bit and let the peat monster soothe you to your soul.
